The Inner Man

In all my previous posts, I've been asking God for help, and my prayers are being answered.

About twenty years ago, the mother of a beautiful young woman I pursued in college gave me a very kind greeting card. From miles away, she could see that my spirit was broken. She included in her note Ephesians 3:16-19 as her prayer for me:

"That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

I appreciated it at the time, but much moreso now. Criticism may hurt my feelings, but I draw strength and renewal in choosing to believe that God loves me and has a place for me. He can make use of me, and overcome every adverse circumstance, heal every wound, and redeem every fall. I choose to believe I am a disciple of Jesus and a servant of God.
